A Royal Celebration: King Emolot’s 2nd Coronation Anniversary Marks a New Era for Teso

Thousands of Iteso gathered on October 22 to witness a historic celebration—the second coronation anniversary of His Highness, Paul Sande Emolot, the revered King of the Iteso people. The day was filled with grandeur, as African royals from across the continent and the diaspora came together to honor the king. Invited through the AIDO Network International, a global community that unites African royalty, the distinguished delegation was led by His Highness, Paul Eganda, President of AIDO and a proud son of Teso. This personal connection made the occasion even more meaningful.

Among the highlights was an inspiring speech by AIDO’s Vice President and East African Representative, who introduced the royal delegation. Each royal took a moment to offer their congratulations to King Emolot, as the crowd marveled at the stunning display of African heritage. Leopard skins, symbolizing nobility, were prevalent, but it was the diverse and elegant traditional attire of each royal that truly captivated the locals, showcasing the richness of African fashion.

In his address on behalf of the royal delegation, His Highness Paul Eganda emphasized that their visit extended beyond the coronation. He announced key initiatives aimed at uplifting the region, including a sponsorship program for girls to study clinical nursing at Kumi Nursing School, addressing education and employment gaps. Additionally, a water bottling company would be established to boost the local economy. The delegation also planned community visits to raise awareness on important issues such as drug abuse and mental health.

In his closing remarks, King Emolot expressed his deep gratitude to the delegation for honoring his day and for their dedication to the development of Teso. The celebration marked not just the king’s reign but also a new era of economic and social progress for the region.

This unforgettable day, with African royalty gathered in unity and new projects on the horizon, will be remembered as a moment of pride and hope for Teso land.
