AMDEF Commences Multimillion- Project in Bukedea
Earlier this year, the Ateker Muslim Development Foundation (AMDEF) successfully secured funding from WE CARE RELIEF CANADA to construct an Islamic centre in Bukedea. This centre will include a health centre, a converts’ centre, an Imaams training centre, a vocational skills centre, boarding primary and secondary schools, and a mosque. The establishment aims to empower the Muslim community in the region by providing spiritual, vocational, and life skills for sustainable self-reliance.
The first phase of this ambitious multi-billion-dollar project has commenced, focusing on the construction of a mosque, an Imaam’s house, and a health centre. The health centre will be equipped with modern medical facilities, enabling online medical services, including surgeries and maternity care.
The groundbreaking ceremony for the first Muslim health centre in the Kumi Muslim district was officiated by Shk. Obilan Abubakar Umar, the Acting Regional Assistant to the Mufti (RAM) and the Executive Director of AMDEF. The event was attended by several notable leaders, including Shk. Ramadhan Ibwakit, Deputy District Kadhi (D/DK) of Teso; Shk. Rashid Omujeju, Deputy District Kadhi (D/DK) of Kumi; Hon.
