From Stuart’s Perspective: Becoming Osmosis in the MTN MoMo Advert
It’s not every day that a guy like me, Stuart, finds himself thrust into the limelight. But that’s exactly what happened when I landed the role of Osmosis in the famous MTN MoMo advert. Now, let me tell you how it all went down.
It started with a call from my buddy, Cucamber, a fellow comedian and radio presenter at Ssanyu Radio. He told me he had recommended me for something big and asked for my photo. Next thing I know, I’m getting an invitation through Xtrim Casting Limited, Uganda’s premier casting agency, to audition at Swangs Avenue in Industrial Area.
When I arrived, I found myself among a crowd of invited folks, all eager to snag a role. We were handed the script and told to audition. I took my shot, gave it my best, and hoped for the best. After my scene, I was promised a callback by none other than Mr. Eric, the marketing manager at MTN, and Benon of Swangs Avenue.
Now, playing the part of Osmosis was a breeze for me. Why? Because I know what it’s like to be broke and in need of cash. They didn’t disclose the exact amount, but I can say I was fairly compensated for my time and talent. And even though I’m part of a comedy duo with Bruno, I was still singled out for this role. But hey, I’m not complaining. I’m proud to represent both Stuart and Bruno.
Some people wondered if Osmosis would outshine Stuart. But let me tell you, I’m all about balance. I can switch between personalities like a pro.
Now, let’s talk benefits. Playing Osmosis has brought me social capital, more event performance bookings, and the confidence to raise my booking price. I owe a huge thanks to Xtrim Casting, Swangs Avenue, Benon Viboyo, and everyone who recommended me for the part.
Oh, and about the shoot? It was smooth sailing. Planned for two days, but I only needed two takes. Guess being a good listener and a quick learner pays off, huh?
So there you have it, folks. Stuart’s journey from comedian to Osmosis in the MTN MoMo advert. Who knows what’s next? But whatever it is, I’ll be ready for it.
