Thieves Foiled in Attempted Robbery at Equity Bank Soroti: Guard in Custody for Questioning

In a daring attempt, a group of thieves targeted the Equity Bank branch in Soroti on the morning of April 23rd. The unknown gang gained access to the bank building through the rear entrance, catching both authorities and bank officials off guard.

Reports indicate that the police are yet to release an official statement detailing whether the thieves used forced entry or exploited lax security measures for their infiltration. However, it appears that their plan to access the bank’s safes, presumably containing the sought-after money, was thwarted.

Surveillance footage reveals that the robbery unfolded around 1 pm, with the criminals spending over an hour attempting to crack open the safes. Despite their efforts, they left the premises empty-handed, their mission unsuccessful.

Questions arise regarding the vigilance of the security guard on duty during the incident. The guard has since been taken into custody for further interrogation, as authorities seek answers on how the breach occurred under their watch.

Shaddy Engulu, reporting for Emuria TV, brings this developing story to light. As investigations continue, the community awaits further updates on the attempted robbery at Equity Bank Soroti.
