Unity in Royalty: A Historic Gathering of African Monarchs in Serere

On October 26th, the district of Serere witnessed an impressive gathering of over 50 royals, who convened for a historic and grand royal event. The ceremony was a stunning showcase of heritage and culture, featuring processions in which each King and Queen made a majestic entrance to music that reflected their respective origins. This royal affair was graced by none other than Papa Emolot, the revered King of Teso.

One of the key highlights was the inauguration of the Supreme Council of the Global African Diaspora Kingdom (GADK).where His Highness (HH) Paul Eganda is the Chairman, with Queen Dr. Hilary Brown Acom II is President, Her Royal Highness (HRH) Queen Jenny Abbensetts Ikatekit as Vice President, and Queen Mother Hon. Millicent Odhiambo Nabura as Chief Commissioner. Each took an oath of office to begin their duties.

A significant moment came with the swearing-in of Her Majesty Queen Cynthia Khumalo Mzilikazi III from South Africa as a member of the Indigenous Council of African Traditional Leaders. In a heartfelt ceremony that celebrated Africa’s unity, Queen Mzilikazi III, joined by Queen Vickilexar Orange, led a ritual of “receiving Africa’s children back home.” The newly welcomed members were draped in animal-print robes symbolizing authority, given staffs, and bestowed with African names, signifying their renewed connection to the continent. The President of AIDO, His Royal Highness Paul Eganda, and Papa Emolot blessed this symbolic ceremony, further emphasizing African solidarity and identity.

The event also drew local government dignitaries, including the Minister for Fisheries, Helen Adoa, who expressed her admiration for the beautiful and meticulously organized celebration. The venue’s extraordinary decorations, described by locals as the most breathtaking royal ceremony they had ever seen, left a lasting impression on all who attended.

This magnificent gathering was not only a tribute to African royalty but also a powerful reminder of cultural heritage, unity, and pride among the African Diaspora.
