Waters of Honor: Royals Quench Kumi’s Future

The Kumi School of Nursing in Mukongoro, with its 5,000-student capacity and renowned for offering quality medical courses like nursing, midwifery, and pharmaceutical studies, was brimming with joy and celebration as the African Kings and Queens from the diaspora, led by His Royal Highness Paul Eganda, President of the African International Development Organization (AIDO), and the Lands King, Papa Emorimor Emolot Paul Sande, visited to inaugurate a water harvesting system funded by AIDO Network. This initiative has provided the institution with a consistent water supply, easing student life and fostering an environment for focused learning.

With modern facilities at the school, the newly installed water system, capable of storing over 20,000 liters, now ensures students have reliable access to water that meets their daily consumption needs. Professor Charles Okiria, Proprietor and Principal of the School, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the AIDO team and Papa Emorimor, acknowledging this valuable contribution to the institution’s well-being. In addition to this, AIDO Network launched a scholarship fund aimed at the top-performing students in the medical field, providing full bursaries to deserving candidates.

The students were visibly elated—not only at the presence of multiple royal dignitaries in their school but also at the generous support offered. Community members also expressed appreciation, noting that the school has brought affordable and high-quality medical education to the region. The event was enriched by diverse cultural performances from local and visiting groups, showcasing a vibrant mix of traditions in honor of the esteemed guests.
